Sergey Osokin – extraordinar Russian accordion player and the winner of all major International competitions, such as Dubna (Russia), in Moscow (Russia), in Tula (Russia) as well as Klingental (Germany), the “Cup of the North” (Russia, Cherepovets), “Big award of Don” (Russia, Rostov-on-Don), “Spring voices” in a variety category (Russia, Moscow), in Surgut (Russia), the X International competition in Arrasate-Mondragon (Spain), the International competition in Castelfidardo (Italy and a special prize from “Excelsior”), Grand-Prix at the 5th International competition “Cup of the North” in Cherepovets, Grand-Prix at the International competition “Shabyt” in Astana (Kazakhstan), The International competition “Trophee Mondial” (Bourboule, France), The international competition “Moro D’ Oro” (Italy, categories: Jazz, variety, classic), Golden prize at the festival “April Spring” (North Korea, Pyongyang)
Sergey is participating at international festivals in Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Spain, Slovakia, Serbia, Lithuania, Latvia, Kazakhstan, China, North Korea, the United States, France, Italy, regularly tooks part in the music festivals “Bayan and Bayanists”.
Sergey became the soloist of the Moscow Philharmonic society in 2006. He is currently an active concert artist, frequently serves as an adjudicator at international competitions. Since 2006 he has been a teacher at the Schnittke’s Moscow State Institute of Music.
Mr. Osokin was born in Kolomna, Russia. He started playing the accordion at the age of six and began to study music with O. A. Makarova in Kolomna. Since 1995 he continued his education in Moscow with professor Andrey Ledenev. After finishing the musical school in 1997 he entered the Schnittke’s State Music College in Moscow where he was taught by professor Andrey Ledenev. Since 1997 until 2001 Sergey was a student of Schnittke’s State Music College in Moscow. He was trained by Proffessor Yuri Shishkin at the “New Names” master class in Suzdal, Russia. After completing his studies in Schnittke’s State Music College in Moscow, Sergey continued his education at the Schnittke’s State Music Institute in Moscow with professor Andrey Ledenev. Later he was a student of Schnittke’s State Music Institute in Moscow. After finishing the Institute in 2004 Sergey entered the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow in the class of distinguished Russian concert artist and professor, Friedrich Lips.
